Hitchman Construction: A true partner for Ritchie Bros.

Shared values can be the most important connection folks are looking for when they’re deciding on who they want to do business with. Whether you’re a mom-and-pop shop or a larger operation, having something in common with your business relationships can make all the difference.

And sometimes you pass that on to your children. Hitchman Construction is a family owned and run business that began with $5 in 1970. Founder Edward Hitchman sadly passed on a few years ago, but his daughter Barb McIntyre has continued to work with us on dispersal of their heavy assets and real estate.

Among the heavy equipment we’ve sold for Hitchman are a 2010 John Deere 270D LC Tracked Excavator, a 2012 Mack TD713 6×4 TA Day Cab Truck Tractor, and a 2020 Manac Tri/A Single Drop Gooseneck trailer.

Selling privately is an option, but Ritchie Bros. provides peace of mind in several ways. You’ll find expert care throughout the process, including pricing guidance, advanced data analysis, guarantee of sale, and much more. We pride ourselves on providing the type of attention your assets or land deserve.

“Selling privately is a hassle,” Barb said. “A million tire kickers, and then everyone has the money until they have to write a cheque.”

That personal touch we care about at Ritchie Bros. can only be embodied by our great team of people, and Territory Manager Warren Hanscomb has always been hands-on when it comes to Hitchman Construction, guiding Barb and the company through multiple auctions and dispersals.

“Warren is so confident that we felt confident,” she said of that first auction after her father’s passing. “You don’t have to lose any sleep. Have it in your yard, have it in their yard, it doesn’t matter. It works!”

“Warren is fantastic,” Bard added. “He never breaks a sweat.”

Beyond the standard auctions, our Marketplace-E platform is another great option, providing buyers unique opportunities to make a purchase from anywhere at any time. In fact, Hitchman Construction currently has five lots of real estate consigned through Marketplace-E. These parcels are all located in Miramichi, NB, with potential for recreational, residential and commercial development.

• 49.42+/- Residential Acres
• 8.20+/- Commercial Acres

Our commitment to providing excellent service and better returns to Hitchman Construction – and every single customer, for that matter – is always worth the effort when those customers stick around for a long time. They become like family, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I would recommend Ritchie Bros. 100%. It’s just such an easy process,” Barb said.
