Maxim Crane Works offers sought-after inventory in North American crane event Sep 28

Ritchie Bros. is hosting a massive North American crane sale on Sep 28 and Maxim Crane Works is the marquee consignor. The Kentucky-based heavy equipment rental outfit is one of the largest providers of rental cranes in the United States, with a reputation for some of the most stringently maintained assets in the industry.

David Tobon, who is the Director of Fleet Sales for Maxim, says the company will make over 90 cranes available in the online event.

“Our business is to rent cranes and our customers expect the equipment to perform, so our maintenance is conducted by industry professionals in a very disciplined structure,” said Mr. Tobon. “Maintaining the cranes in top condition is essential to our business, and preventive maintenance is a way of life for us. Whatever the cranes need the cranes get.”

Maxim Crane is looking to reduce its inventory and re-invest into newer equipment to service the needs of its clientele. The consignment will feature All Terrain Cranes, Crawler Cranes, Rough Terrain Cranes, Truck Cranes, Carry Deck and Pick-and-Carry Cranes, boom trucks, and more. Standout cranes include:

1997 Link-Belt HTC-8670 70-ton Hydraulic Truck Crane

1999 Manitowoc 888 S2 Lattice-Boom Crawler Crane

2004 Grove RT760E 60-ton 4×4 Rough Terrain Crane

2005 Link-Belt RTC-8075 75-ton 4×4 Rough Terrain Crane

2009 Grove GMK4080-1 90-ton 8x8x8 All Terrain Crane

Online auction provides convenience for sellers – and buyers

The Sep 28 sale will be a Timed Auction online-only event hosted by Ritchie Bros.’ North East, MD facility, but bidders will be participating online from all over the world. It’s one of the key reasons Maxim trusted Ritchie Bros. to conduct the sale. That, and the benefit of being able to sell virtually from their locations and eliminate the added costs of transporting assets.

“Being able to sell online and not having to relocate the equipment represents a huge advantage and eliminate additional expense,” said Mr. Tobon. “We still get a worldwide audience, where buyers can bid with confidence. Ritchie Bros. is bringing the world to us. And that’s good business for everyone.

“Ritchie Bros. has a large buyer base and the data to support it, and today it’s all about the data. Having a pulse on the global equipment markets is necessary and very important for us at Maxim Crane Works, LP, as we align our fleet to support the clients we serve across all industries.”
