Canada’s Premier Equipment Auction features close to 9,000 items and counting

Canada’s premier equipment auction in Edmonton is right around the corner, featuring an incredible array of nearly 9,000 pieces of top-brand heavy machinery and vehicles selling over a five-day span beginning May 11.

Despite lingering market uncertainties, buyer demand is expected to be high for this one-of-a-kind Edmonton equipment auction. Last year’s sale attracted over 18,000 bidders from over 50 countries, with some buying from as far away as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Peru and the Netherlands.

“It is with tremendous pride that we get to host this event every year,” Jordan Clarke Senior Vice President, RB Canada Sales, said after last’s year rousing success resulted in over CA$225 million in gross transaction value (GTV).

Edmonton plays a critical role for sellers across construction, transportation and energy sectors. For Alberta’s oil and gas industry in particular, strong resale values and dependable buyer demand are essential to managing fleet turnover and capital cycles.

“Edmonton’s spring auction has long been one of the most significant auction events in Canada, and we continue to see strong global demand from buyers who trust the marketplace and are ready to transact,” added Ryan Eacrett, Vice President of Sales at Ritchie Bros.

“That combination of global reach and local market expertise gives our customers confidence in both the process and the outcome.”

Top equipment consignors for Edmonton 2026 auction

This year’s still-growing inventory is as varied as ever and currently sits at roughly 8,700 assets, including over 320 truck tractors, 365 pickups, 210 excavators, 120 dump trucks, 60 wheel loaders, 55 dozers, and so much more.

Our bidders can trust that this equipment has been serviced and maintained to the highest standards with established consignors such as ConTrac Equipment Ltd.; Boyd Ventures Inc.; Downton’s Transport; DDC Sand, Gravel & Concrete; Mike Vail Trucking Ltd.; Spruce Hollow Heavy Haul Ltd; Pidherney’s; and more!

Most of these assets are housed at our Nisku location in Alberta, and at our site in Prince George, BC, in addition to a few smaller satellite yards. You can kick the tires and talk shop during onsite inspections starting May 10 and running until the sale begins.

We’re also offering up a tasty treat with our Classic Car Show & Shine, featuring plenty of eye candy and muscle for the car enthusiasts out there.

And don’t forget our Customer Appreciation BBQ on May 9 from 10 am to 2 pm. This effort not only shows our bidders and consignors our gratitude but also serves a worthy cause. Last year, our customers raised over $66,000 for charity – including $33,000 for the Leduc and District Food Bank and Holiday Hampers – and we’re eager to build on that this year.
