ConTrac is also a big buyer at Ritchie Bros. auctions across North America, researching and itemizing potential purchases weeks ahead of the sale. Two weeks before the auction they conduct an in-person inspection for all items they are interested in, paying close attention to items that are ready for work so they can rent them as quickly as they’re purchased. However, they often buy equipment “sight unseen due to the quality of pictures and info available online.”
