Core Equipment Group turns fleet transition into its Sep 15-16 auction
Core Equipment Group is putting more than 140 pieces of rental and used equipment up for bid at the Northeast Regional Auction, Sep 15-16.
The equipment’s already staged at the Ritchie Bros. yard in North East, Maryland, and new listings keep landing on rbauction.com as sale day gets closer.
Why now?
Core reached out to Ritchie Bros. to figure out what to do with an underutilized fleet.
“They had contacted us, and we set up a call to discuss their fleet and their goals of selling this equipment, so they can go and modernize the fleet with newer equipment,” said Zach Barberich, Territory Manager at Ritchie Bros., in this CEG article.
The plan is simple: sell now, reinvest fast. Whatever the auction brings in goes straight back into new equipment for Core’s rental fleet.
“Our goal is simple: provide our customers with the most dependable equipment available,” a Core Equipment Group spokesperson was quoted in the article. “By investing in the newest technology and modernizing our fleet, we’re helping customers maximize uptime, improve productivity and reduce the total cost of equipment ownership.”

This isn’t a one-category sale. Expect a heavy mix of excavators, wheel loaders and mini excavators, plus material-processing gear like Rubble Master and Terramac machines, screeners and grinders, with some Case equipment mixed in too.
“It’s a diverse fleet, a diverse package with some exciting pieces in there,” Barberich said.

How to get in on it
It’s all online. Ritchie Bros. built a dedicated landing page where you can browse everything staged for the sale in one place, and Barberich says to keep checking back — new listings are going up right up to sale day.
For Core, it’s a straightforward trade: turn older equipment into cash, then put that cash toward newer machines.
The bigger picture
This auction is just step one for Core. The company frames it as part of a longer push to modernize after folding in GT Mid Atlantic.
