Here’s a look at the new Localized Search function and how you can benefit:

Automatic Location Detection delivers smarter browsing

We now use geo-location technology to detect your location via IP address, instantly displaying equipment listings that are geographically closest to you. This helps you:

• Reduces search time by highlighting relevant local listings
• Helps buyers discover assets with lower transport costs
• Provides a seamless, intuitive first-touch experience

Search where it matters with Manual Location Selection

You can now manually enter or change your preferred location (e.g., city or province), which allows you to tailor your results to any geography—whether you’re working remotely or planning for future acquisitions. This helps you find equipment via:

• Multi-region searches from anywhere
• Supports regional project planning and forecasting
• Offers more control and flexibility to buyers

New sort and filter options help you find the right equipment faster

We’ve added a new “Closest to Me” sorting option and improved our “Best Match” algorithm to factor in proximity. A “Your Location” badge also makes it simple to confirm or update your location with one click. This helps you with:

To continue providing better service we are also planning to add in radius targeting to further enhance this feature giving you the ability to filter the results by distance in a future update.

How do I use Localized Search on rbauction.com?

Using the new feature is simple. On any search results page set your preferred location. The system will automatically detect your current area. However, you can change it if you’d like. Then use the drop down menu to change from “Best match” to “Closest to me” and see your new results.
