You’ve Got a Ritchie Bros. Account. Here’s How to Place Your First Bid.
Creating your account is step one. Here’s what happens between hitting “Complete Account” and placing your first bid.
Finish setting up your profile
Head to your profile and click Complete Account to confirm your name, mailing address, and phone number. Ritchie Bros. verifies your email with a 6-digit code and your phone number by text or call. Once both are confirmed, your profile is complete and your bidding limit unlocks.
Set your bid limit
A complete profile lets you view auctions. A verified bid limit lets you bid.
Add a credit card with the expiration date and security code. Ritchie Bros. isn’t charging you anything; the card verifies your account and sets your limit. In some countries, a refundable deposit works the same way. Your information is encrypted, and verification is instant: as soon as it clears, you can start bidding.
Browse, watchlist, and register — no obligation
Look through events across the Ritchie Bros. Marketplace. Registering costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Click the heart icon on any item to add it to your watchlist, then click in for full specs, usage history, and condition details.
Place your bid
Every item sells to the highest bidder. On the item page, click Bid, enter your maximum, and the system shows you in real time whether you’re leading or outbid. Set your max and it bids automatically on your behalf, up to your limit. Bid from home, work, your PC, or the app at rbauction.com.
2026 CDWS25 DumperOutbid? Ritchie Bros. adds thousands of items daily, and VeriTread makes long-distance buying simple if the right machine isn’t near you.
When you win: payment and pickup
You have seven days to pay: by wire, credit card, or Ritchie Bros. Financial Services. Payment triggers a release sheet by email, your access to the gate for pickup. Can’t collect it yourself? VeriTread ships it to your door.
