Here’s what’s new and how to put it to work at your next auction. 

Why We Rebuilt Bidding in the App 

Buyers don’t sit still. Contractors are running crews, farmers are in the field, and fleet managers are juggling a dozen priorities at once. With 2.2M+ registered bidders annually, we know many of those bids start on a phone. 

The old experience asked you to jump between the app and a browser at the worst possible moment. When the bidding gets competitive, every extra tap costs you. So we removed them. 

Bid Directly From Anywhere in the App 

You can now place a bid wherever you find the equipment you want, with no redirect to a browser: 

• Search results: Spot the right machine and bid without opening another screen. 

• Listings: Review the inspection report and full photo library, then bid from the same page. 

• My RB: Bid on the items you’re watching from the place that keeps your bids, watchlist, and saved searches together. 

Fewer steps between finding equipment and bidding on it means you stay in the auction, not in a loading screen. 

Stay Focused With Bid Focus Mode 

Knowing where you stand is half the job at auction. Bid Focus Mode lets you swipe between placing a bid and watching the auction progress, so you’re never guessing.

• Know the moment you’ve been outbid. 

• Swipe back to bidding and decide your next move. 

Professional buyers working to a set budget get a clear picture of every lot in play. First-time bidders get the confidence of knowing exactly what’s happening. 

Follow Every Lot in Real Time With Live Auctions 

Live Auctions lets you follow closing lots as they happen, right from your phone. When your item comes up, place your bid with one-tap bidding the second it’s your turn. 

It’s the auction floor in your pocket, with the same pace, the same competition, and the market setting the price. 

See Your Bid Limit in the App 

Your bid limit determines how much you can bid, so it pays to know where it sits before the auction starts. You can now see your bid limit in the app, including when it increases. Check it, confirm you’re ready, and bid. Learn more about how bidding limits and deposits work. 

How to Get Started 

1. Download or update the Ritchie Bros. app from the App Store or Google Play. 

2. Log in to your Ritchie Bros. account, or register if you’re new to bidding. 

3. Check your bid limit in the app so you know you’re ready ahead of auction day. 

4. Add equipment to your watchlist and find it again quickly in My RB. 

5. Bid from search results, listings, My RB, or Live Auctions when the time comes.
