Precision Contractors trusts Ritchie Bros. to bring the results

Precision Contractors was established in 1986 with just four pieces of equipment. Today they have a whole fleet of equipment and a diversified workload, including oilfield lease construction, municipal road construction, reclamation & remediation work, and a lot more.

Frank Tremmel of Precision has been attending Ritchie Bros. auctions since the 1990s and remembers “standing in the cold waiting for my piece to come up for sale.” Today Ritchie Bros. offers a lot more convenience and comfort, with state-of-the-art auction theatres and multiple ways to bid.

“Ritchie Bros. team is upfront and honest and treats us with the same respect we provide our customers,” said Frank. “They come prepared with data and industry insights to show and educate customers, working with you on optimal selling times and advising on how to get the best results on auction day.”

Precision Contractors is meticulous in prepping their equipment for auction, making sure each item is ready to go to work for a new owner. The company sold a handful of items in the April 24 – 28, 2023 Edmonton auction, including three 2015 Caterpillar D6T dozers that sold for a combined CA$817,500 and two 2017 Caterpillar 815F compactors that sold for a combined CA$505,000.

“Ritchie Bros. provides the white glove treatment for customers, building strong relationships over years,” added Frank. “I’ve sold privately in the past, but many of the ‘interested bidders’ don’t understand the equipment or are unserious about buying and I can’t get that time back in my day. By selling with Ritchie Bros., we can spend more time focused on our business and our customers.”

  • Overall transaction went okay. The big problem is that I purchased a vehicle that the information on the ad was misleading and inaccurate more exactly the odometer on a car was advertised in km on the website and when I phoned the office to confirm I was told the same thing, only to find out after I purchased and picked up the car and drove it for a bit that odometer is in miles and not km, therefore I overpaid based on what information was presented to me at the time of the auction. I will most likely not use Ritchie again due to the fact that if this is the kind of business they do, I would rather use other auction houses that take pride in what they do and aren’t so money hungry that they misinform you just to make sales and provide misinformation and inaccuracy on the sale items. Very unprofessional from my point of view.
