Vehicles you need for a zombie apocalypse – all from GovPlanet

If recent popular shows like Last of Us or Walking Dead have taught us anything, it’s that you need a durable, versatile vehicle in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Something that can tackle all kinds of off-road terrain, provide shelter if possible, and most importantly – outrun the advancements of a stiff-limbed undead mutant.

At GovPlanet, the military surplus arm of Ritchie Bros., you’ll find everything you need to survive an End of Days-like environment. From tactical vehicles to field gear, gen sets, boats, hummers, buses, and way, way more.

We’ve put our scopes on a few highlights that would come in handy if we woke up tomorrow and it was the Dawn of the Dead.

1991 (unverified) Oshkosh M1070 8×8 Winch Truck

Imagine being trapped in a compound, surrounded by incoming zombies from every direction. What kind of vehicle do you need to bulldoze the fence and break out to freedom? The Oshkosh M1070 8×8 Winch Truck is the closest you’ll get to a monster truck.

2017 Polaris MRZR-D4 Side By Side

If we presume the roads are cluttered with abandoned vehicles, you’ll need something like the Polaris Side by Side. It’s built tough; ready for when it’s time to hit the backroads and find that creepy, abandoned cabin that will you inevitably flee from during a zombie attack.

1992 BMY M934A2 Custom Built 5 Ton 6×6 Cargo Truck

The Custom Built 5 Ton 6×6 Cargo Truck is mean looking and constructed like an armored vehicle. If you drove through a crowd of zombies; they would become speed bumps. It also features a custom cargo area that would serve perfectly as a protective shelter.

2013 Hydratrek 2488BP Amphibious ATV

It’s not going to break any records for speed, but this Hydratrek 2488BP Amphibious ATV is go-anywhere moving fortress.

2013 BlueBird Vision Bus

It’s not the most imposing vehicle on our list, but there’s something to be said for living space, right?  This BlueBird bus can be your home away from the zombie-infested home you can never go back to.
