After over 50 years in business, Randy Farrar is ready to move on to his next phase in life. The Oklahoma-based pipelayer contractor is preparing for a complete dispersal on May 17 in Kingfisher, OK. He’ll be selling over 30 pipelayers, 10 crawler tractor, two graders, 12 excavators, pickup welders, and plenty of other assets.
“All the equipment is very well maintained,” said Randy, President of Farrar Construction. “When we would get awarded with a job, we needed to start work right away, so our equipment had to be top notch and ready to go out right away. “I would say 95% of our equipment can be hauled straight to a project right now and ready to go to work.”
Farrar’s long history of pipeline construction
Farrar Construction is a company with deep history and experience in the oil and gas industry. Randy’s father, Morris, founded the company in 1968 with one small crew doing pipeline construction and the rest hauling salt water and oil. Randy and his brothers took over the business in 1996.
Randy has worked all over the region and even did a big job laying pipe from Austin to Ft. Worth. He chose Ritchie Bros. for his complete dispersal because he wanted to reach as wide a buyer audience as possible, and get global market prices. “Ritchie Bros. is known worldwide,” said Randy. “With a global buyer audience, our bigger pipelayers can reach markets overseas, and that’s very important.”
