Ritchie Bros. opens new Manitoba location

St. Agathe satellite yard just 25 mins from Winnipeg

We now have two locations in Manitoba to serve customers, with a new satellite yard recently opening up in Ste. Agathe—about 25 mins south of Winnipeg. This new location will act as a staging area for equipment display and inspection, with all items selling online.

Last month we sold more than 340 equipment items and trucks in online Manitoba Timed Auction, with assets stored in Ste. Agathe and Brandon, MB. Approximately 70% of the assets purchased by Manitoba buyers, while the remaining 30% sold to buyers across Canada and into the United States. The most expensive item sold in the auction was a 2019 Kubota M7-172 MFWD tractor for CA$124,000.

“It’s very exciting for us to be a part of this market,” said Brennan LeBlanc, Director, Operations, to local news outlet Niverville Citizen. “We’re here to support the ease and transfer of gear, whether it’s trailers, trucks, or excavators for local consumers.”

“Whether they’re construction outfits or dealers looking to move equipment, they’re leveraging Ritchie Bros.’ marketplace to find buyers in the province, the country, or across the globe,” added Mr. Leblanc.

Next Manitoba auction set for September 13

The new six-acre Ritchie Bros. site in Ste. Agathe borders Highway 75 in Manitoba, with a ton of visibility for drive-by traffic—perfect for larger, mobile equipment. The recent June Timed Auction also attracted more than 1,800 online bidders.

“If people can’t have [the equipment] at their own property, they want to have a location to drop it off,” added Mr. LeBlanc. “We bring it in for inventory, complete inspections, and provide information to market it to the web.”

The new site is also expected to provide offshoot benefits for the larger community of Ste. Agathe.

“It [will] bring auxiliary businesses into the mix, like fuel, transportation, lodging, and restaurants,” said Sam Webber, Ritchie Bros.’ Territory Manager. “It is a draw for a lot of the people to come to the community and look at the equipment.”

The next Manitoba Timed Auction will take place on September 28, 2023. Anyone interested in selling equipment in the auction can contact the site directly at 1.800.481.4494 or visit rbauction.com/selling. Items can also be stored at the Ste. Agathe site and sold through one of our exclusively online platforms like IronPlanet or Marketplace-E.
