Ritchie Bros. prepares for “Super September” auction month fueled by rising global buyer demand
With more than 28,000 lots sold across EMEA and APAC in Q2, the company heads into a full September auction calendar, with inspection-backed listings and support from payment through to delivery.
Ritchie Bros. launches Super September campaign – a month of auctions across EMEA and APAC. The calendar gives buyers one of the year’s largest and most varied selections of used equipment. Spanning construction, agricultural and transport assets, the calendar gives buyers more opportunities to find the machines they need and the operational support to buy them with confidence, wherever they are in the world.
Demand heading into Super September is strong
In the second quarter of 2026, Ritchie Bros. sold more than 20,000 lots across EMEA, with over 14,000 bidders and more than 5,000 buyers taking part, led by Italy, Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Construction and industrial equipment remained the engine of that activity, with more than 18,000 lots sold in EMEA, up 5% at online auctions. Mini excavators led the EMEA sales charts with more than 1,100 units sold, ahead of boom lifts, crawler excavators, wheel loaders and telescopic forklifts..
“Buyers are telling us the same thing in every market: they want choice, but they also want certainty,” says Fergus Garrett, Regional Operations Manager for Germany and Spain at Ritchie Bros. “Super September delivers both. Buyers get a month of auctions with thousands of lots to choose from, and behind every listing sits a local team that has inspected the machine, documented it properly and can get it delivered — whether that’s down the road or across a border.”
More than a marketplace
With more equipment buying moving online, trust and transparency matter more than ever and Ritchie Bros. supports buyers at every stage of the transaction. Every listing gives buyers a clear picture of an asset before they place a bid, with detailed inspection reports, full specifications, photos and videos. Dedicated local teams guide buyers through payment and the documentation that keeps international transactions compliant and on schedule.

And the support continues to the final destination: from local collection to cross-border shipping, Ritchie Bros. can helps arrange transportation, so the equipment arrives where it is needed. That combination of local operational expertise and global reach is what turns a listing into a completed transaction, particularly for the growing share of buyers purchasing from another country.
“Super September is when the calendar works hardest for buyers,” adds Shane Eshuis, Vice President, Operations, International. “If you’ve been holding off on a purchase waiting for the right machine at the right price, this is the month the odds are in your favour.”
